Basketball Survival

It all starts Saturday, April the 17, 2010 - the NBA Playoffs. The winner's trophy and cash award awaits the final survivor of the Basketball Survival Contest; it could be you!

The playoffs begin with sixteen teams, eight from the Eastern Conference and eight from the Western Conference vying for the Title of “World Champions”. Test your predicting skills by competing against other Sports By Choice members.

The goal of Basketball Survival is to survive each elimination round with one or both of your teams making it to the Champion Series. Prior to the start of the playoffs you select four of the playoff teams from each conference that you believe have the best chance of making it to the Championship Series. The winner of the Basketball Survival contest is the contestant that accumulates the greatest number of points during the playoffs. The point system is as follows:

Each game that one of your eight teams wins earns 10 points. For each loss, 5 points are deducted. As an example, if a team wins a series in six games, they will have earned a total of 30 points; forty points for the four wins and a deduction of ten points for the two losses.

If a tie exist at the end of the Championship Series, then the winner is determined by the contestant whose eight teams scored the greatest number of points during the playoffs.
